The headquarters of the Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS) in Abuja witnessed a rare royal presence on Wednesday as the Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi (Ojaja II), paid a courtesy visit to the agency for the renewal of his diplomatic passport.

The revered traditional ruler arrived at the facility to a warm reception led by the Comptroller-General of Immigration, Kemi Nandap, who was joined by members of the service’s management team to receive the monarch.

The visit, which underscored the Ooni’s status as both a custodian of tradition and a prominent national figure, was later made public in a statement issued on Thursday by the Service Public Relations Officer, Akinsola Akinlabi.

According to the statement, the monarch completed the renewal process at the service headquarters, where officials extended full courtesies befitting his position.

The NIS noted that the engagement reflected its continued commitment to efficient service delivery while maintaining respect for national institutions and traditional authorities across the country.
