For aerial monitoring of the Ondo State governorship election slated for this Saturday, November 16, the Inspector-General of Police (IGP), Kayode Egbetokun, is said to have ordered deployment of three police helicopters and four drones.
A reliable source at Force Headquarters (FHQ) Abuja, told Supremenews this morning that, “the IG has ordered deployment of three helicopters and four drones to Ondo. They are supposed to leave today (Wednesday), but they will leave tomorrow (Thursday, November 14).”
Our source could not explain the reason the helicopters, the drones and the crew could not leave Abuja today.
The dependable source disclosed that 15 pilots are also being deployed for the election, further hinting that only two helicopters would move to Ondo tomorrow, while one will be on standby at FHQ, Abuja.
It was also learnt that all the helicopters were recently serviced for effectiveness.
The 15 pilots are said to have been paid their allowances since Monday this week.
