I’m not a fan of Minister of FCT, Nyesom Ezenwo Wike, or his style, but it’s concerning when Nigeria allows soldiers to be used as guards for disputed properties, including those of military officers and wealthy civilians. This misuse of military personnel is troubling, especially when it involves blocking government officials from doing their job.
Nigeria’s current situation is quite alarming, where military personnel are being used as guards for disputed properties, including those of high-ranking officials and wealthy individuals. This trend is not only unacceptable but also a clear abuse of power and misuse of military resources.
It’s disturbing to see soldiers being deployed to protect private interests, often at the expense of the general public and government officials trying to do their job. This kind of behavior undermines the rule of law and creates an impression that some individuals are above the law.
The fact that this is happening in a country where the military is supposed to protect the nation and its citizens, not private properties, is a clear indication of how far we’ve drifted from our values and principles.
It’s high time we call out this behavior and demand better from our leaders and institutions.
