A public servant and aspiring political leader, Babatunde Olaogun, has donated 500 examination forms for the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board to students in Ogbomoso North as part of efforts to support education and empower young people in the community. Olaogun explained that the initiative was designed to commemorate the celebration of love while also demonstrating his commitment to youth empowerment and educational advancement within the local government area. According to him, the donation was carefully structured to ensure fairness and equal access across the community.
The 500 forms were distributed across all ten wards in Ogbomoso North, with each ward receiving 50 forms to guarantee that students from every part of the local government area would benefit from the programme. “We wanted to ensure all Ogbomoso North benefits, which is why we took a deliberate approach to distribute the forms evenly,” Olaogun said. He noted that the gesture was inspired by a desire to give back to the community and encourage students to pursue higher education. “I wanted to do something special to show my love and appreciation for the people and invest in their future,” he said. Olaogun emphasised that education remains one of the most effective tools for empowering young people and building stronger communities.
He added that providing students with access to opportunities such as the JAMB examination could open doors to universities, polytechnics and other tertiary institutions across the country. “Education is the key to unlocking the potential of our youth, and I believe this gesture will shape the future of our community,” he stated. The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board conducts the Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME), which is required for admission into higher institutions in Nigeria. For many students, obtaining the examination form can be a financial challenge, making donations such as this particularly valuable to families with limited resources.
Olaogun explained that his interest in community service goes beyond infrastructural development. According to him, building human capacity and improving the socio-economic wellbeing of residents are central to his vision for the area. He said his initiatives are focused on promoting human capital development, encouraging educational advancement and supporting programmes that improve the livelihoods of residents.
