Edo State Governor, Monday Okpebholo, has appointed Mr. Andrew Momodu as commissioner-designate, pending confirmation by the Edo State House of Assembly. If cleared by the lawmakers, Momodu’s appointment will bring the number of commissioners in the governor’s Executive Council to 29.
The announcement was contained in a statement issued by the Secretary to the State Government, Musa Ikhilor, who described Momodu as a seasoned political administrator and public affairs practitioner with vast experience in governance, security coordination and democratic engagement. According to the statement, Momodu has held several strategic positions within government and political structures over the years, contributing to policy formulation and public administration.
It also highlighted Ikhilor’s own background in public service, noting that he previously served as Special Adviser on Security and Public Order. He had also contested for a seat in the House of Representatives but was unsuccessful. The appointment, the statement added, reflects the governor’s commitment to strengthening the capacity of his administration with experienced hands to drive development initiatives across the state.
