Fresh reports have disclosed that former Governorship candidate and Senator representing Enugu North Senatorial zone, Barr Okey Ezea died after one of his legs was amputated.A close source disclosed that the lawmaker died in Lagos from complications arising from diabetes.
According to the source, Ezea had one of his legs amputated as doctors battled to save his life.
“Ideke had diabetes and had returned from the UK. He was being treated in a hospital in Lagos where he had had one of his legs amputated due to complications from the ailment.
“The doctors were doing skin graft to cover the amputated leg when he gave up the ghost,” the source said.
Members of the Nigerian Senate have started penning emotional tribute to the deceased Senator.
Senator Orji Uzor Kalu, representing Abia North, and Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan, representing Kogi Central, described Ezea’s death as heartbreaking.
