The Delta State Government has said Governor Sheriff Oborevwori’s record in office is already influencing conversations ahead of the 2027 general elections.

Commissioner for Works (Rural Roads) and Public Information, Charles Aniagwu, made the assertion while speaking on Politics Tonight on TVC News, noting that visible projects across the three senatorial districts had rendered campaign rhetoric largely irrelevant.

“The election is not stopping him. He is progressing steadily with the promises he made,” Aniagwu said.

He pointed to major infrastructure projects executed by firms including Julius Berger Nigeria, highlighting the DSC Roundabout and Enerhen Junction bridges, which are now in use, as well as the PTI Junction Bridge, which he said is nearing completion.

According to the commissioner, the administration has also completed the 137-kilometre Asaba–Ughelli corridor, significantly reducing travel time to Warri to under two hours. He added that multiple road and bridge projects are ongoing across both riverine and upland communities in the state.

Aniagwu maintained that the scale and spread of development projects under the current administration would play a decisive role in shaping political discourse as 2027 approaches.
