Peter Obi, presidential candidate of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), has identified national unity and human capital development as key pillars of his vision for a productive and prosperous Nigeria.

In a post on his X handle on Wednesday titled “My Vision for a Productive and Prosperous Nigeria”, Obi said his administration would prioritise unity, inclusion, social justice, equity and the freedom of citizens to pursue lawful aspirations while implementing reforms to improve the quality of life of Nigerians.

He stated that education and healthcare would form the foundation of his human capital development agenda, adding that his government would establish a task force to drastically reduce the number of out-of-school children and place greater emphasis on Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) to support industrialisation and job creation.

According to Obi, stronger partnerships among government, the private sector and faith-based institutions would improve funding and equipment for TVET institutions, expand apprenticeship opportunities and address the shortage of skilled labour. He added that character and civic education would also receive greater attention to promote trust, responsible leadership and shared national values.
