The National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) has announced the date for the physical verification of foreign-trained Nigerian graduates preparing to participate in the national service programme. The exercise is part of the mobilisation process for eligible graduates who obtained their degrees from institutions outside Nigeria and is aimed at authenticating their credentials before deployment.
The NYSC said the physical verification would be conducted for foreign-trained graduates who had completed the required online registration and uploaded their documents through the official mobilisation portal. The corps advised prospective corps members to ensure that they complied with the requirements and appeared at the designated verification centres within the stipulated period.
According to the NYSC, the verification process would enable the authorities to examine the academic and other relevant documents submitted by foreign-trained graduates and determine their eligibility for mobilisation. The exercise is also expected to help the corps identify fraudulent documents and ensure that only qualified candidates are cleared to participate in the national service programme.
The scheme urged affected graduates to attend the verification exercise with the original copies of the required documents, alongside other materials specified during registration. It warned prospective corps members against relying on unauthorised individuals or agents for the process, stressing the importance of following information released through the NYSC’s official channels.
The NYSC further advised foreign-trained graduates to take note of the announced date and make adequate preparations for the exercise. It reiterated that participation in the physical verification was an important part of the mobilisation process and urged candidates to comply with the requirements to avoid delays or difficulties in their clearance for the national service.
