The Lagos State Chapter of the National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW) has officially unveiled a multi-million naira motor park named after President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in Oyingbo, Lagos.
The facility, christened the President Bola Ahmed Tinubu Modern Garage, is set to be inaugurated today in the presence of top Lagos State Government functionaries, union leaders, transport stakeholders, and party faithful.
Located in the bustling Oyingbo axis of Lagos, the ultra-modern garage is designed to ease traffic congestion, improve commuter experience, and enhance operational efficiency for commercial drivers in the area. Union leaders described the project as a landmark investment aimed at modernising the state’s transport infrastructure while honouring President Tinubu’s longstanding contributions to the development of Lagos.
Speaking ahead of the unveiling, officials of the Lagos NURTW chapter said the project reflects the union’s commitment to aligning with ongoing reforms in the transportation sector. They noted that the garage is equipped with modern facilities to ensure better organisation of vehicles, improved security, and enhanced convenience for passengers.
According to the union, naming the motor park after President Tinubu is a recognition of his role in transforming Lagos during his tenure as governor and his continued support for infrastructural growth across Nigeria.
The unveiling ceremony is expected to draw prominent political leaders, government officials, and transport operators, marking another milestone in the effort to modernise transport hubs within the state.
Stakeholders have expressed optimism that the new garage will not only boost economic activities in Oyingbo but also set a standard for future motor park developments across Lagos and beyond.
