The Nigerian Society of Engineers (NSE) has launched a mobile app aimed at improving coordination, verifying qualifications, and combating the rising cases of unlicensed practice in the engineering profession. Speaking in Abuja on Thursday, NSE President Margaret Oguntala said the platform will serve the organisation’s over 80,000 registered engineers across the country, allowing clients and institutions to authenticate credentials before awarding contracts. She said the move supports Nigeria’s digital infrastructure goals and ensures professionalism in a sector critical to national development.

Oguntala added that the app aligns with global best practices and will also ease project tracking and performance assessment. She stressed that only verified engineers in good standing will be able to access and interact with the platform. The launch was part of a broader effort by the NSE to rid the profession of quackery and promote better regulation of engineering services, as Nigeria continues to prioritise infrastructure and innovation under the current administration
