The Nollywood industry has never been short of drama, but the ongoing feud between two of its leading stars, Iyabo Ojo and Lizzy Anjorin, has turned into one of the most contentious and personal public rivalries the industry has witnessed in years.
On Monday, actress Iyabo Ojo vowed to pursue fresh legal action against her colleague Lizzy Anjorin over what she described as persistent defamatory remarks, curses, and threats directed not only at her but also at her children and grandson.
This comes months after the Lagos State High Court, Osborne Division, struck out Ojo’s N1billion defamation suit against Anjorin, citing procedural lapses, and ordered Ojo’s lawyer, Olabimpe Ajegbomogun, to pay N500,000 in costs to Anjorin’s counsel, Ademola Olabiyi.
What began as a professional fallout has since spiraled into a bitter war of words, petitions, lawsuits, and endless social media battles. Anjorin has repeatedly used Facebook live sessions to mock Ojo, triggering waves of parody videos on TikTok and Facebook. Some of these, Ojo admitted, even made her laugh.
But beneath the humor lies deep pain. In her Instagram post on Monday, Ojo revealed that she has been silent on legal advice, while her legal team carefully documents every remark from her rival. She expressed heartbreak over Anjorin’s curses and alleged death wishes, particularly those targeting her children and grandson.
“My legal team isn’t sleeping. They are taking note of everything,” Ojo wrote. “The insults, curses, even death wishes Liz has directed at my family, especially my grandson, are heartbreaking. Most times, I struggle to hold my peace, but I choose to ignore the distractions. Who God has blessed, no one can curse.”
For Ojo, family has been the focus in recent months. She has been in Tanzania, caring for her daughter and newborn grandson, but hinted that her return to Lagos would mark the beginning of a firmer legal push against Anjorin.
Anjorin, however, is not backing down. In a fresh video shared on social media, she insisted that Ojo was the instigator of their bitter feud. According to her, the conflict escalated when Ojo’s team allegedly posted court documents on her property, during which they reportedly took pictures of her daughter, Florida, and shared them online.
She accused Ojo of mocking her child by reacting with laughing emojis to defamatory posts about her daughter and even to a false obituary post claiming Anjorin herself had died.
Anjorin further alleged that Ojo played a role in “destroying” the reputations of singer Naira Marley and his associate Sam Larry during the public uproar that followed the death of musician Mohbad She accused Ojo of failing to clear their names despite her influence in that advocacy.
They shouldn’t call her ‘mad’ for coming for Iyabo’s children and grandson, Anjorin said in the video, maintaining that Ojo had struck first and she was only responding.
