The Federal Inland Revenue Service (FIRS) has confirmed that a fire incident occurred at one of its offices in Abuja on Monday morning, with no loss of life recorded.

The incident took place at the FIRS office located at No. 15 Sokode Crescent, Wuse Zone 5, Abuja. According to the Service, the fire broke out on the fourth floor of the building before it was quickly contained.

In a statement issued on Monday by the Technical Assistant (Print Media) to the Executive Chairman of FIRS, Sikiru Akinola, the Service said the situation was swiftly brought under control due to the prompt response of security personnel and emergency responders.

FIRS commended the efforts of those involved in the emergency response, noting that their quick intervention prevented the fire from spreading and minimised damage. The Service also assured members of the public that necessary safety measures have been put in place to safeguard staff and property.

While the cause of the fire was not immediately disclosed, FIRS said an assessment would be conducted to determine the extent of damage and the circumstances surrounding the incident. The agency reaffirmed its commitment to ensuring the safety of its staff and the continuity of its operations.
