The NIgeria National  League Board Chairman Mr George Aluo  has commended the match officials of the  match  between Gateway Football Club of Abeokuta and Osun United of Osogbo.

Aluo said he was impressed with performance of centre ref Babayanju Saheed (Ondo), Alalade Taofeeq (Kwara) and Bako Tajudeen (Kwara) during the game  played at the MKO Abiola Stadium, Abeokuta on Saturday.

Aluo who was physically  present at the game which ended 2- 1 in favour of Gateway FC said the officials were firm, fair and decisive  in the highly entertaining but tense game.

According to him  “I must commend the high level  of professionalism  displayed by the center  referee Babayanju Saheed from Ondo state  his two Assistants  Alalade Taofeeq and Tajudeen Bako from Kwara State. Whenever we see people doing the right thing, they need to be encouraged  and commended. I was highly impressed by the performance of the center referee and  his Assistants who were  in total control  of the game. Their forthrightness, firm grip of the game was top notch. It shows that our referees  have come of age. When we have such level of professionalism, it becomes difficult for any team to complain  of poor officiating. The game was good as the pitch ensured impressive display from both sides. I decided to personally watch this match and  it  justified our decision to  engage top rated officials for these crucial stages of the league. I’m happy  that the reports from most of the venues indicate that the officiating was good across the centres. This shows that our league keeps improving  by the day.

Reports in most venues indicate officiating was generally  good. We must sustain the tempo ahead of the Super 8,” Aluo said.
