Meanwhile, following the CJN’s directive,  the National Judicial Council (NJC) has set up a panel to investigate the judges of the federal and State high courts involved in conflicting rulings in political cases in Rivers State.

Members of the panel yesterday met with Chief Justice Kekere-Ekun in her office where she gave them the ultimatum to submit its report this week.

Already, the panel has summoned all the judges involved in the multiple cases arising from the lingering political feud between Governor Siminalayi Fubara and the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesome Wike.

The panel is headed by a former Justice of the Court of Appeal (name withheld) while two heads of courts are also members.
