Nigerian football fans were among the biggest participants in SuperSport’s digital FIFA World Cup 2026 experience, accounting for 21.2 per cent of users on the broadcaster’s SuperSport Predictor platform.
Post-tournament figures released by SuperSport showed that Nigerian users ranked second among registered participants on the platform, behind South Africans, who accounted for 29.5 per cent of users.
The figures highlight the strong interest of Nigerian football fans in digital platforms linked to major international football tournaments. The SuperSport Predictor allowed users to participate in predictions and engage with the World Cup throughout the competition.
SuperSport said the data reflected the level of engagement generated by the FIFA World Cup 2026 among football audiences across Africa.
Nigerian users made up a significant share of the platform’s registered participants despite finishing behind South Africa.
The broadcaster said the post-tournament figures provided insight into the digital engagement of football supporters during the World Cup. The strong participation from Nigeria further demonstrated the country’s large and active football audience.
