Troops of the Nigerian Army have dismantled several kidnappers’ hideouts in Edo North Senatorial District, arresting 13 suspects and recovering arms, drugs, and other incriminating items.
According to a statement released on Friday by Capt. Kennedy Anyanwu, acting Assistant Director of Army Public Relations, 4 Brigade Nigerian Army, the operation took place on February 4, 2026, and was conducted in collaboration with the Nigerian Air Force, Nigeria Police Force, Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, and the Edo State Security Corps.
The coordinated operation targeted the Osara, Auchi, and Okpella communities in Etsako West Local Government Area, aiming to dismantle criminal networks terrorizing residents.
Anyanwu highlighted that the successful mission demonstrates the military and security agencies’ commitment to curbing kidnapping and enhancing public safety in Edo State.
