The Nigerian Air Force has announced that one of its senior medical officers has secured double honours at a major regional medical conference, describing the feat as a reflection of the Service’s expanding professional excellence. In a statement shared on its official X handle on Monday and titled, “NAF officer wins double honours at WACS conference, showcasing NAF professional excellence,” the Air Force said the achievement underscored its commitment to human capacity development.
According to the statement, Group Captain AO Akinuli distinguished himself at the West African College of Surgeons Scientific Conference, where he emerged with two prestigious honours. The Service noted that the accomplishment highlights the increasing impact of its training and professional development programmes, particularly in the medical field. It added that the recognition further demonstrates the high standards maintained by its personnel, not only in military operations but also in specialised disciplines such as medicine and surgery.
