IT was as if the whole of Nigeria gathered in Abuja for former Chief Whip, former Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, former Governor of Imo State, Hon. Emeka Ihedioha for a colloqium to mark his 60th birthday on Monday.
The house was full. There were a few notable absences.
Among those who attended were former President Olusegun Obasanjo, former Vice President Abubakar Atiku, Elder statesman Emeka Anyaoku, former Senate Presidents Chairman Adolphus Wabara, now Chairman of PDP BOT, Ken Nnamani, and David Alechenu Mark, former Speaker of the House of Representatives Chief Dimeji Bankole, Chief John Oyegun, former Governor, former APC national Chairman, Senator Enyinnaya Abaribe, and Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives Chief Ben Okezie Kalu, Alhaji Lawan Farouk, former member, House of Representatives, and actor Chief Kanayo O. Kanayo.
Senator Seriake Dickson was a big attraction. People are still talking about his star performance at the Senate vote on the emergency rule in Rivers State. He went around, pumping hands.
Former Governors in attendance included Achike Udenwa, Rotimi Amaechi, Kayode Fayemi, Donald Duke, Peter Obi, 2023 Labour Party presidential candidate, and Gabriel Suswan.
