The Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) has called for urgent information following a shocking mid-flight altercation involving social media personalities VeryDarkMan (VDM) and Mr Jollof.
The incident, which reportedly occurred on Monday, was captured in a video showing the two men grappling in the aisle of an airplane while fellow passengers tried to separate them.
Reacting to the footage, NCAA’s Director of Public Affairs and Consumer Protection, Michael Achimugu, took to X, quoting one of the clips and requesting: “If you are kind enough to provide the name of the airline in whose aircraft this incident occurred, and the date, it would help investigations.”
The cause of the fight remains unclear. Reports suggest the clash began before take-off, but neither the airline nor the passengers involved have released official statements.
VDM and Mr Jollof have a long-standing online feud. Previously, VDM accused Mr Jollof and his wife of defamation, alleging that his home address was leaked online, which forced him to stay in a hotel for safety reasons. In October 2024, Mr Jollof’s wife filed a N500 million defamation lawsuit against VDM, demanding a public apology across media platforms.
The tension between the two escalated further when VDM publicly dragged Mr Jollof’s wife into their drama, claiming she “sleeps with Yahoo boys,” sparking a heated exchange online.
