National Para Sports Festival 3rd edition

The 3rd National Para Games (also referred to as the National Para Sports Festival) is currently taking place in Abuja, Nigeria, running from March 26 to April 3, 2026.

​This edition is a major milestone for inclusive sports in Nigeria, featuring over 3,000 athletes from all 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).

​Taking place at the Moshood Abiola National Stadium Abuja (Packages A and B) Scheduled for Saturday, March 28, 2026.

The NYSC Orientation Camp in Kubwa is serving as the official residence for athletes and officials.

It is organised by The National Sports Commission (NSC), led by Chairman Mallam Shehu Dikko and Director General Hon. Bukola Olopade.

​Athletes are competing for medals across 15 sports, including Ball Games like Amputee Football, Wheelchair Basketball, Sitting Volleyball, and Para Soccer.

There are racket games like Para Table Tennis, Para Badminton, Wheelchair Tennis, Para Taekwondo, and Para Karate.

Strength & Athletics Para Powerlifting, Para Athletics (17 different events), and Para Shooting and Water & Cycle Para Swimming, Para Canoeing (at Jabi Lake), and Para Cycling will be featured in this edition.

This festival serves as a critical scouting ground for the National Sports Commission to identify talent for international competitions, including qualifiers for the African and Paralympic Games. It aims to promote inclusivity and dismantle social barriers through the “unifying power of sports.”
