NASS appoints Amahah as Technical Consultant

THE Senate and House of Representatives Committees on Agricultural Colleges and Institutions in a bid to reposition Nigeria’s Agricultural Institutions for enhanced productivity has appointed Mr. Promise Amahah as Technical Consultant.
Amahah who is Founder and National Coordinator, Nigerian Agricultural Colleges and Institutions Network (NACIN), is to formulate strategic policies, legislative advocacy, budgetary appropriation, and oversight functions of the two bodies in a bid to revitalise agricultural education and infrastructure nationwide.
In the letter of appointment, Amahah who comes into the assignment with over 20 years of active and operational experience in the agricultural sector, is the Chief Executive Officer of Mainstay Agro Allied Services is to provide technical advice and guidance to the Committees of the Senate and House of Representatives on critical issues concerning agricultural innovations and technologies.
He is also expected to support both chambers in designing a strategy and work plan for the Committees’ engagements and consultations, identify other sources of technical support that would be necessary for the successful execution of their legislative mandate.
In the letter of appointment signed by the Chairman Senate Committee on Agricultural Colleges and Institutions, Senator Simon Bako Lalong, Amahah having served as Consultant to both private and public organisations across Nigeria and abroad is also expected to undertake other tasks related to the work of the Committee as may be discussed and agreed with the leadership.
Amahah who has also consulted for the German Development Cooperation on Aqua Culture Value Chain programme of GIZ has also served as a member of the National Technical Working Group of the Federal Ministry of Agriculture.
