The Secretary to the Nasarawa State Government, Dr Labaran Magaji, on Friday, urged Christian leaders to sustain prayers for peace, the administration of Gov. Abdullahi Sule and President Bola Tinubu.
Magaji gave the charge during a stakeholders’ interaction with leaders of Interdenominational churches in Toto Local Government Area of Nasarawa State.
Magaji emphasised the importance of sustaining the preachings of tolerance and peaceful coexistence among religious and ethnic groups in the state.
The interaction meeting, which was organised by the SSG, was also to share in the memory of Christmas celebration.
It had in attendance 133 clergy, including the Toto Local Government Chairman.
Others in attendance were: the Secretary of the Nasarawa State All Progressives Congress (APC), Dr. Yarus Dagusa, and residents of Toto Local Government.
Magaji expressed delight that the ethnic groups in Toto now live as one family, having put the past behind them.
He harped on the need for harmonious living, in order to enjoy the dividends of democracy.
He added that President Bola Tinubu and Gov Sule under the Renewed Hope Agenda, were positioned to deliver more developmental projects.
Also speaking,, the state’s APC Secretary, DagUSA, commended the SSG for organising the interactions.
He said that the SSG’s effort was in line with the policy trust of Gov. Sule on peace, which aims to bring development to Toto LGA and Nasarawa state in general.
On his part, Chairman of Toto Local Government, Ahmed Baba also applauded the initiative, adding that it provided them with opportunity to speak on the necessity of unity and peaceful coexistence.
Also, Elder Tanko Kaura lauded the SSG’s wisdom and thought which he said brought great development to the community.
Moreso, Chairman of the Christian Association of Nigeria, Toto LGA Chapter, Pastor Adeyemi Emmanuel- Folorunsho, thanked the SSG and other stakeholders for identifying with them in the spirit of Christmas.
NAN reports that climax of the interaction was a show of appreciation to President Tinubu, for appointing the SSG as Renewed Hope Ambassador for Nasarawa state.
There was also the donation of cash and bags of rice to the Christian clergy by the G30 group.
