Thousands of job seekers across Nigeria can now check their application status for the ongoing Nigeria Agricultural Quarantine Service (NAQS) recruitment exercise following an official update from the agency’s management.
The notification, signed by NAQS Director of Human Resources ACG Issaka Ahmed and released via the agency’s official X account on Wednesday, August 19, 2026, marks the transition into the competitive testing phase of the national exercise.
Applicants are directed to visit the official recruitment portal at recruitment.naqs.gov.ng using their registered details to confirm if their application progressed to the next phase.
Candidates whose status indicates successful progression must prepare for an online Computer-Based Test (CBT), scheduled to begin on Thursday, August 20, 2026. The screening exercise will be conducted online via the recruitment portal, allowing candidates to take the test remotely.
Specific time slots and individual schedule details will be communicated directly to eligible candidates via their registered email addresses.
The opening of the status portal follows a brief administrative hold on August 13 to allow officials to conduct a meticulous review of the hundreds of thousands of entries received. Between July 28 and August 10, the recruitment drive logged over 600,000 application attempts, resulting in 407,659 completed entries across the Superintendent, Inspectorate, and Assistant cadres.
Addressing the vast applicant pool, ACG Issaka Ahmed emphasized that the selection process remains entirely merit-based. He urged all applicants to disregard third-party agents or fraudulent solicitations and rely strictly on official NAQS digital channels for future instructions.
