The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) has emphasized that military action alone cannot guarantee lasting peace in the country, highlighting the importance of diplomacy and strategic partnerships in tackling Nigeria’s security challenges.
This position was articulated by the Chief of Air Staff, Air Marshal Sunday Aneke, through a goodwill message delivered on his behalf by Air Commodore E.P.
Bindul at the first anniversary and General Assembly of the International Society of Diplomats, Nigeria, held on Saturday in Abuja.
Air Marshal Aneke noted that diplomacy serves as a vital instrument of national power, which must complement kinetic military efforts, particularly given the increasing security threats in Nigeria and across the West African sub-region.
The NAF chief’s message underscores the need for a balanced approach that combines military readiness with diplomatic engagement to ensure sustainable peace and stability in the nation.
