Amina Hassan has given a harrowing account of how armed bandits killed her husband, the vice principal of Government Girls’ Comprehensive Secondary School in Gada, Kebbi State, during a violent raid that also saw 25 schoolgirls abducted from a nearby school.
The attack occurred early Monday morning, leaving the community in shock and families gripped by fear as authorities confirmed the abductions.
The Kebbi State Police Command reported that heavily armed assailants stormed the school in Maga, Danko/Wasagu Local Government Area, at around 4 a.m. Police spokesperson CSP Nafi’u Abubakar Kotarkoshi said the attackers engaged the school guards in a fierce gunfight, killed a staff member, injured another, and then escaped with the students.
In a video circulating on social media, Amina Hassan described the terrifying ordeal. She said she was woken by unusual footsteps around 3:30 a.m., initially thinking livestock had entered their farm. When she alerted her husband, she realized armed men in army camouflage were already inside their home.

Amina recounted how the attackers threatened her husband before executing him. “They threatened to kill my husband if he did anything strange. My husband pleaded to pray before they shot him, and after his last prayer, they killed him,” she said. “When I tried to go close to him, they threatened to kill me too.”
The bandits reportedly attempted to abduct Amina as well, but she refused to follow them. She said they instructed her children to lie down inside the house before leaving the scene.
