The wait is over. MultiChoice Nigeria has officially announced the return of Africa’s most-watched reality TV show, Big Brother Naija (BBNaija), for its highly anticipated 10th season, promising the biggest edition yet.
Set to premiere over two nights; Saturday, July 26, and Sunday, July 27, this special anniversary season will span 10 weeks of nonstop drama, strategy, and spectacle, culminating in a grand finale on Sunday, October 5.
With a jaw-dropping N150 million grand prize, this season is not just a continuation of the BBNaija legacy, it’s a total reinvention.
“Today we are not just announcing another season, we are celebrating a legacy,” said Dr. Busola Tejumola, Executive Head of General Entertainment at MultiChoice Group. “What we couldn’t fully imagine then is how deeply the show would resonate across Africa and in the global diaspora.”
What to Expect in BBNaija Season 10
● Double Launch & Nationwide Watch Parties
The season kicks off with a two-night live launch on DStv, GOtv, and Showmax, alongside official BBNaija watch parties hosted in cities across Nigeria — turning the premiere into a nationwide cultural event.
● ‘Back to Basics’ Format
BBNaija Season 10 returns to its original roots: solo entries, one house, no duos. Expect raw gameplay, deeper rivalries, and high-stakes individual competition.
● Culture Shapers & Influencers Join the Game
Top Nigerian influencers, stylists, and culture curators will be actively involved in shaping online discourse around the house — from fashion takes to viral commentary.
● The Red Telephone Twist
A mysterious “Red Telephone” introduced by Dr. Tejumola. The details are still a mystery, but viewers have been warned, only live viewers will understand its real impact.
● Head of House Bag & Challenger Feature
The Head of House (HOH) title now comes with a mystery bag that could shake up alliances or introduce rule-breaking power. Meanwhile, a new HOH Challenger element allows another housemate to contest and possibly steal the title — expect drama.
● 24/7 Streaming & Appointment Viewing
As always, the show will stream live 24/7 on Showmax, with highlights on Africa Magic Showcase, Family, and Urban. MultiChoice is also launching a viewing guide so fans can schedule around key show moments.
● Revamped Live Evictions
Eviction Sundays are getting a dramatic upgrade. Viewer reactions and predictions could now influence who gets punished, who earns power, or who walks out — adding a layer of suspense and social gameplay.
● Interactive Viewer Prizes
BBNaija fans can now win real prizes by interacting with the show. From voting for the “Life of the Party” to reviewing Ebuka’s iconic outfits, fan engagement comes with rewards.
● Social Media-Powered Experience
Season 10 is doubling down on Twitter, TikTok, Instagram, and Facebook. Expect real-time polls, influencer commentary, contests, and behind-the-scenes exclusives shaping the narrative outside the house.
Since its revival in 2017, BBNaija has become more than a TV show, it’s a cultural juggernaut. Last season’s “No Loose Guard” edition brought unforgettable moments, with Kellyrae making history as the first married housemate to win. Viewers are still buzzing over explosive clashes between Onyeka, Wanni X Handi, and Chinwe, moments that spilled into the reunion.
“BBNaija has become a living, breathing cultural force,” added Tejumola. “It has given voice to a new generation of talent, creatives, entertainers, and the influencer community, and it has refined what homegrown entertainment can achieve when it is done at scale with intention and ambition”
With Ebuka Obi-Uchendu returning as host and Guinness Nigeria leading a powerhouse lineup of sponsors including Smirnoff, Pepsi, Aquafina, Gordons, Golden Penny Foods, Checkers custard, Bet King, Innoson Motors, and Haier Thermocool, BBNaija is not just raising the bar, it’s resetting it.
Fans can catch the premiere live on July 26 and 27 exclusively on Africa Magic Showcase, Family and Showmax. The Sunday live eviction shows will also air exclusively on these channels. The 24/7 live stream will be available on DStv Channel 198, GOtv Channel 49, and on Showmax.
