MTN Nigeria has condoled with the family and friends of Dr. Pascal Gabriel Dozie, an ICT champion and philanthropist, who passed on today.
In a statement, MTN Nigeria described him as played a defining role in the emergence of mobile telephony in the country and the MTN story.
“A national award holder- holder of the Niger Commander of the Order of the Niger, one-time Director of the Central Bank of Nigeria and a one-time President of the Nigerian Stock Exchange, he was the founding Chairman of The Nigeria Economic Summit Group and as well as a founding member of the Advisory Board of the Lagos Business School and member of the Council of Pan-Africa University (now Pan-Atlantic University).
“Dr. Dozie was a Pioneer Titan Patriot Statesman who brought invaluable insight and astute leadership along with the needed investors to make the Y’ello dream a reality.
“Described as a quiet revolutionary, a connector, a powerful force in the boardroom, who defuses tension during critical times, his landmark achievements are second to none,” according to the statement.
“Dr. Dozie, fondly called PGD, would be sorely missed.
“We extend our heartfelt condolences to his family. Our thoughts and prayers are with them at this difficult time. May they be granted the fortitude to bear this irreparable loss.”
