Hosts Morocco have advanced to the semi-finals of the ongoing 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) after securing a commanding 2-0 victory over Cameroon in their quarter-final clash.

TheNewsGuru (TNG) reports the Atlas Lions delivered a dominant performance in front of their home crowd, outclassing the Indomitable Lions to seal their place in the last four of the tournament.

Brahim Díaz, who scored the first goal of the 2025 AFCON, opened the scoring against Cameroon in the 26th minute of the game, before Ismael Saibari added the second in the 74th minute.

Morocco’s progression continues their impressive run on home soil as they aim to reach the final and possibly lift the coveted continental title.

Cameroon, meanwhile, bow out of the tournament after failing to break through Morocco’s disciplined and well-organised side.

With the win, Morocco now await the outcome of Nigeria’s fixture against Algeria to determine whether a highly anticipated semi-final meeting with the Super Eagles will materialise.
