Enugu State Governor, Dr. Peter Mbah, has approved a fresh round of appointments into the State Executive Council and key government agencies, naming new commissioners, board chairmen, managing directors and executive secretaries.
The appointments were announced in a statement issued on Wednesday by the Secretary to the State Government, Prof. Chidiebere Onyia. According to the statement, the governor nominated Barrister Osinachi Nnajieze and Dr. C. O. C. Egumgbe as commissioners-designate.
The nominees are expected to be screened and confirmed by the Enugu State House of Assembly in line with constitutional provisions.
The statement added that the governor also approved several appointments into boards and parastatals across strategic sectors of the state government, as part of efforts to strengthen governance, improve service delivery and drive the administration’s development agenda.
Prof. Onyia noted that the new appointments reflect Governor Mbah’s commitment to deploying competent and experienced hands to support the effective implementation of his policies and programmes.
He said the appointees are expected to bring their expertise to bear in advancing the administration’s vision of accelerated economic growth, infrastructural development and improved welfare for the people of Enugu State. Details of the remaining appointments are expected to be released by the government in due course.
