There are indications that Independent Marketers will start lifting PMS from Dangote Refinery this Sunday, in what is a significant petrol supply development in Nigeria, as this is expected to ease the current crushing scarcity of the product in the local market.

Although the pump price of the product is not expected to change, at least not immediately, it is expected that the easy availability of the product in the market may spur a volume sales competition that may ultimately drive down prices.

The initial daily allocation is expected to be 25 million litres, delivered through the NNPC Trading Limited.
To ensure a smooth transition, marketers have been instructed to start sending their trucks to the refinery today (Friday, September 13) to facilitate the lifting process.Â
The move is expected to significantly boost the country’s fuel supply and alleviate the challenges faced by consumers.
Dangote Refinery, located in Lekki Free Trade Zone, Lagos, is a major milestone in Nigeria’s industrialization efforts. Its operationalisation is expected to reduce the country’s dependence on imported petroleum products and contribute to economic growth.
