The Leo Stan Ekeh Foundation, in collaboration with Zinox Group and TD Africa, has inaugurated Artificial Intelligence (AI) Technology Centres in two public schools in Lagos to expand students’ access to digital learning and modern technology.

The centres were inaugurated at Gbagada Senior Grammar School and Lanre Awolokun High School in Gbagada, Lagos State. Founder and Chairman of the foundation, Leo Stan Ekeh, said the facilities would give students access to AI, modern computing tools, digital resources and high-speed internet, enabling them to access learning materials beyond the classroom.

Ekeh said each centre was equipped with Zinox All-in-One desktop computers and large interactive screens with AI capabilities. He added that the facilities had 24-hour renewable energy solutions provided by iPower and two years of satellite internet connectivity from Starlink, saying the combination would provide a stronger platform for technology-based education.

He urged the students to use the facilities to develop skills, pursue innovation and create opportunities that could contribute to Nigeria’s economic development. Ekeh also called on the Federal Government and state governments to prioritise education and improve teachers’ welfare, stressing that better support for teachers was essential to achieving quality learning outcomes.

Director of Studies at the Leo Stan Ekeh Foundation, Dr George Emetuche, said the foundation was working to produce 1,000 tech-savvy young Nigerians with globally recognised training and qualifications.

He said brilliant students from disadvantaged backgrounds would receive full university scholarships, adding that the Gbagada project was the latest of 123 education and technology projects undertaken across Nigeria during Ekeh’s 38 years in technology entrepreneurship.
