The Lagos State Police Command has arrested and remanded Emeka Joseph in Kirikiri Correctional Centre for alleged domestic violence and assault.
The arrest followed a viral video showing a young woman, identified as Ezeka Chisom, with visible injuries, sparking public outrage.
Preliminary police investigations confirmed that Joseph physically assaulted Chisom, with whom he was cohabiting, causing injuries to her face.
Reports indicate the victim is an 18-year-old from Ebonyi State, allegedly brought to Lagos by the suspect after marriage and subjected to repeated maltreatment.
The case has been adjourned to August 3, 2026, for further proceedings.
