The Lagos State chapter of the Christian Association of Nigeria has renamed its permanent secretariat after Nigeria’s First Lady, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, nearly three decades after operating without an administrative headquarters.
The development was disclosed in a statement made available Online on Tuesday, noting that the building, located in Alausa, Ikeja, was officially declared open as the “Senator Oluremi Tinubu CAN Lagos State Secretariat” by the National President of CAN, Daniel Okoh.
Okoh commended the state chapter for its perseverance and dedication in bringing the long-awaited secretariat to fruition. “I urge all members to remain united and dedicated to the work of Christian leadership in Lagos State,” he said.
In a goodwill message delivered by the First Lady’s representative, Mrs Tinubu said, “The completion of the secretariat ends years of dispute over the land and marks the beginning of a new chapter for Christians in Lagos State.”
The naming of the secretariat is seen as a milestone in strengthening the administrative capacity of the Lagos State CAN chapter and providing a permanent centre for religious coordination, leadership, and fellowship among Christians in the state.
