We are so vexed to read the trending news of the alleged dehumanising attack on the National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS) President, Comrade Isah Abubakar Atiku, during the inauguration of the association’s new executives. News also has it that some respected elder statesmen were sadly harassed and molested during the incident that happened in Abuja.
This attack is an affront to our democracy and a disruption to the principles of freedom of association and expression.
The attack further exposes the weakness of our laws and the unreadiness of the government to protect the students and youths of this country.
We want to join good intentioned youthful leaders in Nigeria to vehemently condemn such brutal attack on Comrade Atiku Abubakar Isah, the President of the National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS), by thugs who violently disrupted the peaceful NANS inauguration ceremony in Abuja.
We demand justice for this reprehensible act of violence and clear abuse for human rights.
Nigeria can never be a banana republic where abuse of power and shenanigans thrive.
We call on the security agencies to quickly investigate this heinous crime thoroughly and bring the perpetrators to book.
Nigerian youths must stand up to resist what possibly could be described as an ongoing attempt for total state capture because our future is at stake. We must join hands in condemning this attack and demand for justice.
Nigeria is a democratic nation, and under such arrangement, freedom of association and expression must highly be respected, as enshrined in the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria (1999 Amended) without fear or favour. Aluta voices must not be silenced
Say NO to intimidation of Nigerian students ✊🏾
Forward Ever
Backward Never
Aluta continua
