The Chairman of Kosofe Local Government Area, Lagos State, Mr Moyo Ogunlewe, on Wednesday inaugurated seven roads in the community and donated vehicles to strategic organisations.
The roads include Olayiwola Owoiya St. in Oworonsoki; Ibrahim Onasokun St. in Ifako; Obazur St. in Ifako; Paul Odulaja Avenue in Ifako; Epetedo Road in Ogudu; Taiwo Lane in Ogudu; and Roju Avenue in Ojota.
Ogunlewe also donated vehicles to the four police divisions serving the communities, Christian Association of Nigeria,Kosofe Chapter, as well as the League of Imams and Alfas, Kosofe Chapter.
Ogunlewe noted that the initiatives aligned with President Bola Tinubu’s policies of strengthening grassroots institutions as well as the state governor’s emphasis on collaborative governance and community partnerships.
“I am delighted to announce the donation of newly procured vehicles to our strategic partners who work tirelessly to ensure the safety, security, and spiritual well-being of our communities.
“We are working tirelessly to achieve our goals, and constructing roads is one of our top priorities.
“We will continue to prioritise the needs of our residents and work toward creating a more developed and prosperous community.
“We are donating a Sienna bus each to enhance their operational capacity and improve service delivery to our residents,” he said.
Ogunlewe said the council would also prioritise the construction of other roads.
“We are working tirelessly to achieve our goals, and constructing 40 to 45 roads before the end of our administration is one of our top priorities.
“We will continue to prioritise the needs of our residents and work toward creating a more developed and prosperous community,” he said.
Mrs Folohunso Adebena, an Octogenarian resident who was honoured to cut the inauguration tape, said that the area had not witnessed such development in five decades.
“We are grateful for the chairman’s efforts in developing our community.
“He has also made significant strides in other areas, including education, health, water supply, and environmental efforts.
“The construction of roads, drainage systems, and healthcare centres has greatly improved our quality of life,” she said.
