The Kogi State Police Command has arrested eight suspected criminals during a coordinated bush-combing operation carried out across the state.
In a statement released on Friday in Lokoja, the command’s spokesperson, ASP Saliu Afusat, said the operation was aimed at denying criminal elements any safe haven in Kogi State.
The exercise involved collaboration between the Nigerian Army, local hunters, vigilante groups, and the police, with coordinated patrols conducted in various parts of the state.
“Preliminary investigations indicate that some of the suspects are believed to be informants aiding kidnapping syndicates operating within the area,” Afusat noted. The arrested individuals have been taken in for questioning as authorities continue to investigate their alleged involvement in criminal activities.
The police command emphasized its commitment to enhancing security and ensuring the safety of residents across Kogi State.
