Nigeria’s representative at the 2026 Miss World pageant, Tamunosoye Karibi-George, has secured a place in the competition’s Top 40 after winning the Africa Top Model title in Vietnam.
Karibi-George emerged as the African winner during the Top Model competition held as part of the Vietnam Beauty Fashion Fest XVII, themed “Soul of Heritage”. She defeated representatives from Equatorial Guinea, Botswana, Kenya and South Africa to claim the continental title.
Her victory automatically earned her a place in the Top 40 quarter-finals of the Miss World competition. She joins the continental winners from the Americas and Caribbean, Europe, and Asia and Oceania, who also secured automatic qualification through the Top Model challenge.
Karibi-George, 26, from Port Harcourt, Rivers State, was crowned Miss World Nigeria 2026 after emerging from a field of 20 finalists at the national competition in Lagos on June 6. She had also previously reached the African finalists in the Head-to-Head Challenge.
With her Top 40 place secured, Karibi-George will continue her campaign for the Miss World crown as the competition moves towards its final stages. The Top 40 will feature contestants from four continental groups, with further challenges determining the remaining progression in the competition.
