The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN), reports that gunmen, on April 22, attacked and killed the vigilantes and a student of the College of Education, Gidan Waya.

Amos, while commiserating with the families who lost their loved ones during the attacks, urged them to remain vigilant at all times.

The Lawmaker also engaged stakeholders, particularly youths from Tudun Wada Kaninkon, Gidan Waya, Godogodo and Nindem areas, where ideas were shared on the way out.

Amos, while sympathising with the residents, described the incident as gory and grievous to the affected families and the entire nation.

“Considering the role the vigilantes play in safeguarding our communities, this is indeed a huge loss.

“But, we must remain vigilant; we must organise structured community watch groups to complement government efforts in protecting lives and property,” the statement quoted Amos as saying.

He, however, warned against any form of reprisals, stressing the need for residents to be law abiding at all times.

He further advised residents to remain peaceful and support security agencies in their efforts towards a peaceful Kaduna State.

The lawmaker assured the residents that necessary steps were being taken to apprehend those responsible for the attack.

He reaffirmed his commitment to the safety and well-being of his constituents at all times.

He further pledged continuous engagement with relevant authorities towards the restoration of peace and stability across the affected communities.
