The Jos Electricity Distribution Plc has confirmed a scheduled power outage on Thursday, July 10, 2025, to support routine preventive maintenance by the Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) at the Jos Transmission Station. The shutdown, affecting the 330 kV Lafia-Jos Line 2, will run from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. and is aimed at calibrating relay systems, testing line-bay equipment, and ensuring optimal performance.

According to Saratu Dauda, Acting Head of Corporate Communications at JED Plc, about 7.5 MW of load will be shifted to Lafia-Jos Line 1 during the outage period to minimise disruption and safeguard network stability. Dauda emphasised that the maintenance is essential for improved reliability and thanked customers for their patience, pledging the company’s continued dedication to enhancing service delivery.

Customers are advised to make alternative arrangements for the five-hour window on July 10. JED reiterated that this temporary step is part of its commitment to energising lives with pride, urging customers to expect brief inconvenience in exchange for longer-term service benefits.
