The 33-year-old’s contract with Arsenal, initially set to expire at the end of June, was terminated early by mutual agreement, facilitating his move to Flamengo. Jorginho has committed to a three-year deal with the Brazilian club, extending through July 2028.

During his tenure at Arsenal, Jorginho made 78 appearances after joining from Chelsea in January 2023. He played a pivotal role in helping the Gunners secure a second-place finish in the most recent Premier League season

Flamengo has confirmed that Jorginho will debut for them in the expanded Club World Cup, scheduled to run from June 14 to July 13 in the United States. Flamengo’s campaign kicks off against Tunisia’s ES Tunis on June 16 in Philadelphia.
