The Jigawa State Pilgrims Welfare Board has directed intending pilgrims to make an initial deposit of N7.5 million for the 2027 Hajj exercise.

The Director-General of the board, Ahmed Umar, disclosed this in a statement issued on Wednesday in Dutse by the board’s spokesman, Habibu Yarima. He said the measure was aimed at ensuring adequate preparation for a hitch-free pilgrimage.

Umar said only 87 days remained before the September deadline set by the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON) for Hajj arrangements. He urged zonal officers to ensure proper allocation of Hajj seats and sensitise intending pilgrims on the need to complete their payments promptly.

The director-general also commended Gov. Umar Namadi for his continued support to the board.
