A founding member of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Professor Jerry Gana, has stated that if Peter Obi returns to the PDP, he would win across the northern states should he contest the 2027 presidential election under its platform. Gana made these remarks during an appearance on Arise TV’s Prime Time on July 31, 2025.
He believes that Obi, as a PDP candidate, would defeat any opponent in the North, attributing it to the “fair-minded and just” nature of northern voters.
Efforts are reportedly underway within PDP to reconcile with or bring Obi back, as the party seeks to strengthen its 2027 prospects.
