The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has confirmed the minimum cut-off marks for admissions into tertiary institutions for the 2024/2025 academic session. According to the outcome of the 2025 policy meeting held in Abuja, the board announced that the minimum score required for university admission is 150, while 100 is the threshold for both polytechnics and colleges of education.
Additionally, JAMB and stakeholders agreed that colleges of nursing sciences will adopt a minimum benchmark of 140. These cut-off marks serve as general guidelines, but individual institutions are still at liberty to set higher standards depending on their admission policies and competition levels.
The Registrar of JAMB, Prof. Ishaq Oloyede, emphasized that all institutions must strictly adhere to their advertised minimum admission scores, adding that any change must be formally communicated and approved. Institutions are also expected to conclude their admission processes for the 2024/2025 session by December 14, 2025.
