The Nnamdi Kanu-led Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) has urged the Nigerian media to be a little more circumspect in associating the ‘genuine pro-Biafra group’ with the “the self-professed content creator in Finland.”
“A person that declared himself as Prime Minister of a phantom Finland-based Biafra Government-in-Exile is sufficient to address the minds of journalists to the criminal constituency which he represents,” IPOB said in a statement issued today (Tuesday, December 3) by its Media and Publicity Secretary, Comrade Emma Powerful.
According to the statement by Powerful, what the self-determination group called “the phantom Biafra Government-in-Exile” is not part of the IPOB nomenclature and persistent association of “these content creators” with the legitimate aspirations of Biafrans championed by the great IPOB worldwide should not be muddled up to serve a dangerous intent of tarnishing the impeccable image of IPOB.”
“Media houses are enjoined to stop referring to content creators in Finland as IPOB members, talk less of its leaders,” IPOB appealed in the Emma Powerful statement, warning that IPOB would treat media houses as it treats those fighting to destroy peaceful IPOB and Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, if they (the media houses) “continue associating the content creator with the great family of IPOB led by Mazi Nnamdi Okwuchukwu Kanu.”
“IPOB is not part of them and the Nigerian media and bloggers should stop associating them with IPOB,” Powerful stressed. “They have declared their freedom and independence and mentioned their created states. What remains now will be telling the public their seats of power in Biafraland. IPOB remains what they were from the beginning and will not shift ground until Biafra’s Independence is fully announced by the United Nations.”
