The Embassy of India, Tehran on Monday advised Indian nationals residing in Iran to leave the country using all available means of transport, including commercial flights, citing the evolving situation of protests and demonstrations.
According to a report by The Economic Times, the mission urged Indians currently in Iran—among them students, pilgrims, businesspersons, and tourists—to depart at the earliest opportunity.
The advisory follows earlier guidance issued on January 5 and January 14, in which the embassy had already called for caution and heightened vigilance among Indian citizens in the country.
In its latest notice, the embassy reiterated that Indian nationals and Persons of Indian Origin should avoid areas witnessing protests or public demonstrations and closely monitor local developments.
It also encouraged citizens to remain in regular contact with the mission for timely updates and assistance, as authorities continue to assess the unfolding situation.
The embassy did not specify the duration of the advisory but emphasized that safety remains the top priority amid the ongoing unrest.
