The obsequies of Serial entrepreneur and consummate marketer Kenneth Obinna Oduenyi, who died on August 14, 2026, will commence this evening with a Wake Keep at his family home in Nsukka.
An old boy of the famous College of Immaculate Conception (CIC) Enugu and alumnus of Enugu State University of Science and Technology (ESUTH),Kenneth leaves behind a profound legacy of devotion, service, and quiet strength.
Born in Onitsha in 1972, Kenneth spent 54 vibrant years building a life centred on faith, family, and community impact. He was a devoted family man who built a home rooted in cohesion, wisdom, and traditional values.
Also known for his commitment to even development in his homestead, Kenneth was a dedicated pillar of his local community. He consistently advocated for even development, unity, and supporting those in need across Nsukka zone at large and Igbo-Etiti LGA in particular
A man of wise counsel, Kenneth’s life was guided by deep Christian values, and it is fitting that his obsequies is christian centred
According to a statement issued by the family and signed by his first son Paschal Henry Oduenyi the funeral events will kick off on Wednesday, August 26, 2026 at 5:00 p.m with a Christian Wake Keep at No. 1 Oduenyi Lane, Off Saint Theresa’s Road, Nsukka.
On Friday, August 28, 2026, at 7:00 am, his mortal remains will depart Bishop Shanahan Hospital Mortuary for a brief lying-in-state at No. 1 Oduenyi Lane, Off Saint Theresa’s Road, Nsukka.
The Funeral Service proper will commence at 11:00 am in Oduenyi’s Compound, Ebokwe-Nua, Aku, Igbo-Etiti LGA of Enugu State and internment will follow immediately after the service at the compound. This is to be followed by the reception for guests at Oduenyi’s Compound, Aku. By 1:00 pm
There will be Traditional cum Cultural festivities at Oduenyi’s Compound, Aku from 6:00 pm till Dawn. His funeral rites will continue on Saturday, August 29, 2026, between 9:00 am – 4:00 pm with Condolence visits by in-laws, friends, associates, and well-wishers.
The rites will end on Sunday, August 30, 2026, with a Thanksgiving Mass at Saint Victor’s Catholic Church, Onuiyi, Nsukka.
​Kenneth, fondly called Mimi Whyte and PLC was survived by his wife Nwanneka, four children Odira, Paschal, Ikechukwu and Chukwumdalu.
Also left to mourn him are Lagos based company chief executive Prince Ikechukwu Oduenyi, his siblings and a host of other relations.
