Hunger: House of Reps member, Osoba distributes 1,000 bags of rice to vulnerable constituents in Ogun

As part of efforts to alleviate the current economic hardship, a member of the House of Representatives representing Abeokuta North/ Obafemi-Owode/Odeda Federal Constituency at the National Assembly, Olumide Osoba, has distributed 1,000 bags of rice to vulnerable individuals across the 38 wards making up the constituency.
Speaking during the kick off of the programme dubbed Community Food Support, in Odeda town, Odeda Local Government Area of Ogun State, Osoba, explained that the initiative is a federal government project aimed at cushioning the effects of the harsh economic situation and ameliorating hunger in the country.
He noted that the community food support programme which started with the distribution of 1,000 bags of rice among his constituents is expected to continue in the coming weeks, with more distributions planned across the federal Constituency.
The federal lawmaker added that the initiative is also a testament to his dedication to making positive impacts in the lives of the people of Abeokuta North, Odeda and Obafemi-Owode Local Government Areas.
He, however, assured that the Federal Government and National Assembly would continue to initiate interventions to mitigate poverty and hunger in the country.
One of the beneficiaries, Mrs. Aishat Olumoroti from Obafemi-Owode Local Government, commended the lawmaker for bringing succour to the vulnerable, saying the food support has brought relief to her family.
On his part, Mr Olurotimi Adewale from Abeokuta North Local Government, noted that the food item came at a crucial time when families were struggling to feed, lauding the House of Representatives member and Federal Government for the intervention.
