A fresh controversy has surfaced around Greater Liberation City International Ministry Centre, a church reportedly linked to Nigerian cleric Pastor Chris Okafor, following claims that the ministry has been shut down in Toronto, Canada.
The allegation was made by a man in a video currently circulating on social media, where he claimed that the church has been formally dissolved and is no longer legally permitted to operate in Canada. According to him, the development is connected to the ongoing public dispute involving Pastor Okafor and Nollywood actress Doris Ogala, who recently made serious allegations against the cleric.
In the video, the man further alleged that one of the pastors associated with the ministry, identified as Bashiru Igbanor, also known as Pastor David Igbanor, should no longer remain in Canada. He claimed the pastor’s work permit was tied to the now-allegedly dissolved church and urged Canadian immigration authorities to take action, insisting that the cleric should return to Nigeria to continue his ministry.
As of the time of filing this report, neither Pastor Chris Okafor, representatives of Greater Liberation City International Ministry Centre, nor Canadian authorities have issued any official statement to confirm or deny the allegations.
