The Governor of Nasarawa State, Abdullahi Sule, has said the recent wave of defections by governors, senators, and other prominent politicians from opposition parties into the All Progressives Congress (APC) is a direct result of the ongoing reforms being implemented by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration.

Governor Sule made the remark while speaking with journalists in Lafia on Monday, noting that the President’s policies have renewed confidence in the APC as the only party with a clear roadmap for national recovery and sustainable development.

According to him, the sweeping economic and governance reforms introduced by President Tinubu are beginning to yield positive results, prompting many political leaders across the country to realign with the ruling party.

What we are witnessing today — the movement of key figures from various political platforms into the APC — is not a coincidence,” Sule said. “It is a testament to the bold reforms of President Tinubu’s administration, which are designed to reposition our economy, restore investor confidence, and place Nigeria on the path of greatness.”

He explained that while some of the policies may initially appear tough, they are necessary to rebuild the nation’s economic foundation and secure a better future for Nigerians.

True leadership sometimes requires taking difficult decisions for the greater good,” the governor added. “President Tinubu is doing exactly that, and Nigerians are beginning to see the sincerity and long-term benefits of his actions.”

Sule commended the defecting politicians for putting national interest above personal ambition, urging them to join hands with the President in driving the Renewed Hope Agenda across the country.

He also expressed optimism that the growing unity within the APC would strengthen the party’s dominance ahead of future elections, especially as the Tinubu administration continues to deliver tangible results in infrastructure, power, agriculture, and job creation.

The APC remains the party of progress, reform, and accountability,” the governor said. “With more Nigerians identifying with this vision, I have no doubt that our nation is on the right track.”

Governor Sule reaffirmed his administration’s support for the President’s programmes and pledged continued collaboration to ensure that Nasarawa State benefits fully from federal initiatives aimed at promoting economic growth and social development.
